Ultra-rare flexi by this Sendai city HC all stars project band. Featuring the Disarray singer, Sekinin Tenka and Rebel members. The female guitarist Hiromi(Rebel) and the bassist Jun(Sekinin Tenka) later moved to Tokyo to play in G-Zet/Bloodberry with Tam(The Stalin). Hiromi did the vocals for them. Bloodberry actually played both G-Zet and Bitousha songs. Amazing flexi. This is some quality metallic Japcore. Awesome lyrics, too. Very sought after early Japcore rarity. "Absolutely demented vocals appear on two of the three tracks here.It's again that metal-punk style of GISM, but lighter on guitarwork. Complex, and evil-sounding." (MRR #23 review)

The 1st flexi by this all-girl punk band that sounds kinda like Nurse or early Typhus when they had a female singer. Chu-Doku means "addiction" in Japanese. On this early flexi, they played some cool ADK style dark punk but sounded more uptempo and catchier than those similar styled bands that you can think of. Over the past years I've collected all the Chu-Doku releases including a few comp's and like them all, however most of their later stuff(with different members) sound totally different than the style they played on this flexi and are way more melodic and poppier. Split release by the band's own Blue Complex label and Museum Records. Museum was a small Chiba city based label/shop that also put out the Kyojinbyo records and a bunch of other good and not-so-good local bands that most of the people probably would have never heard of...

Speedy, aggressive and punkish tunes with amazing metallic guitar riffs/solos. Completely unknown outside of Japan, so here's some infos. Color was active during the mid '80s to early '90s. The singer Dynamite Tommy(Japanese...) used to be in this ultra-obscure mid '80s Osaka Japcore band called Whip Brains, with a Rapes singer and some early members of S.O.B., Outo, Mobs etc. The drummer Toshi was a member of the legendary Japanese metal band Mein Kamph. It's one of those cool Japanese 3" size mini-CD single that comes in a thin tall package.

Absolutely no infos available on this Finnish band... They've probably had no vinyl releases, but some great stuff here. Musically, they were in the vein of the bands like Axegrinder, Hellbastard, Antisect, Effigy, Zoe etc. Tight, thick and metallic crust with crunchy/thrashy guitars.

Alright, this is Down By Law from Japan, not the boring ass Epitaph band from the U.S. with the same name. Almost nobody knows about this band, but this EP rips hard. Fast and heavy, straight-forward Japcore with great noisy guitar!! Could easily be on Selfish Records if it came out a few years earlier. Some of their songs remind me of Outo. Down By Law existed from the late '80s to early '90s. As far as I know, this is their only ever vinyl release.

Aburadako meets The Stalin!! Damn, I always liked the later Genkaku Mime stuff which sound much darker and twisted. But this 1st EP is way better and has more punkish feel. Reminds me a lot of early Aburadako, The Stalin, Sekinin-Tenka and some of the ADK style bands. You can hear that same crazy rhythm on drums like Aburadako, and really solid and sharp guitars over The Stalin-ish '80s Japanese hard punk. Includes 4 awesome tracks. Early release on Taiyo Records.

Insanely rare official VHS. It's the original self-released version on their own KPP Records, not the later '90s Kings World reissue entitled "1985 8.15 Gig" with a completely different package, sleeve and sticker label on the tape. For some odd reason, the title "1986 Gig" is printed on the sleeve, however it's actually their legendary, amazing live footage from Aug 15th 1985. Originally sold only through mailorder. I doubt many copies were ever produced, as not so many people even owned a VCR system back then and I remember that every single pro-made VHS was regularly priced 6000~10000 yen in Japan. A true collectors item out of all Kuro releases. You'll never see it again. I've owened it since the late '80s and played it only a few times as I also have the Kings World version. The sleeve is a bit oversized, so it has some minor creases at the top part, but the everything else's in great condition.

Very, very rare and awesome 1st LP by this cult Japanese HC band. They play dark, aggressive and violent HC/Punk with a definite "Mushi" era The Stalin or some ADK influence on this 19-track album. Pretty noisy tunes and crazy lyric, too. Even much better than their '84 first flexi, 2nd 8" flexi(Taiyo Rec.), "Kill Kill Kill" EP or "Catastroph" EP(Climax Rec.) Featuring the psychotic singer Crazy SKB who runs Satsugai Enka Vinyl and also was/is in the bands like Headwasher, Hi-Technology Suicide, QP Crazy etc. Amazing insane artwork by a famous cult comic artist Suehiro Maruo, who also did The Stalin "Mushi" artwork. Guest appearance by Machizo Machida from Inu and Juntaro Yamanouchi from Gerogerigegege.

Hard sounding killer '80s obscure Japanese punk with a bit of dark ADK feel. Very powerful and energetic tunes. Great unknown band! With the titles like "Dead Life", "Rebel Without A Cause" and "Hell Ward", you know what to expect. Unknown obscure mid '80s release on The Star Club's label. I believe this one and the S.A. "I Get Position" flexi are the only non-Star Club records that were put out by this label back then.

Self-released 3rd EP by this legendary early HC band from Osaka. Sounds more metallic than their earlier stuff on AA and Hold Up Records, but still much faster and more powerful sounding than the later LP. Think of their 2nd EP mixed with some early/mid Gastunk and Poison Arts style. Nice metallic guitar solos. Not many people even talk about the late Mobs stuff, but I dig this EP a lot.

On the same label that also did the Kyoaku Kyojindan and Barigade flexi's. Joker Records is pre-Satsugai Enka Vinyl. Ningen Hormone is like a chaotic, rawer and "crappier" lo-fi version of The Stalin and some of those ADK bands. I remember that's how it was described in an old Japanese zine review. Think of Flipper playing the ADK style punk like Aburadako, Kikeiji etc. 6 tracks of fast, rough and obnoxious as hell hardcore punk. Crazy ass lyrics, too.

Rare 2nd EP with Tatsu(Gastunk/ex-Dead Cops) on guitar and Euro(The Execute) on drums. The same female singer and bassist from the 1st flexi on Incest Records, which was a label ran by a Sha-London/Sex Imagination Drugs singer, that also put out the S.I.D., Sha-London and Paruo flexi's. While it's not as great as the 1st flexi, it's still a very good EP. One of my favorite ADK releases.

Limited official release on Specialized Fact, the label ran by some of ex-Outo and S.O.B. members. Comes with a very nice, large glossy color booklet with tons of rare old photos, biography and gig flyers done by this great Japcore artist Tom. Also a killer sleeve artwork done by him as well. An almost complete discography of one of the most important bands in the Japanese HC history, contains their '84~88 materials incl. all the 3 EP's, 6 tracks off the "Shoujikimono..." LP, tracks off the "Hardcore Unlawful Assembly", "Thrash Til Death" and "My Meat's Your Poison" comp LP's. Released also on the CD format, but this vinyl edition was limited. Hard to find.

Highly influenced by early Metallica. 100% pure old school thrash metal. Self-released 1st 12" by one of the premier Japanese thrash metal bands. Great stuff!

Edited and published by Sakevi from G.I.S.M. and Charmy from Laughin' Nose/AA Records. Glossy full-page color and B&W photos of Ghoul, Aburadako, Outo, Laughin' Nose, Lip Cream, Kyaah, Samhain, and Psychic TV. The articles and interviews of G.I.S.M., Cobra, Laughin' Nose, Psychic TV etc. Lots of cool live photos, artworks and ads for Skelton, Jisatsu, Hold Up Records, Lip Cream "Kill The IBM" tape, as well as full-page ads for AA and ADK Records mentioning that the Gauze LP is out and the Typhus LP is planned to be released. The back cover has a large live pic of The Stalin and the front cover is Sakevi. Extremely rare!

Probably one of the most overlooked, yet harder to find ADK releases. Never seen it for sale elsewhere outside of Japan. I like most of the Real releases, but this one and the 8" on Ducasse label are their best in my opinion. Totally awesome, solid and hard sounding punk with sharp guitar. If you dig the bands like The Stalin, Molugu, Rebel, Kikeiji etc., then you'll like this EP.

Released in 1986, not 1988!! Classic early EP by this long-running Japanese HC legend. They've later turned into thrash/death metal in the '90s for a while, just like S.O.B. also did. But what you get here on this EP is just pure manic thrash HC with a slight metallic touch. Blazing fast, brutal and aggressive tunes. If you dig early S.O.B., Inzest or Heresy, then you need this one. Definitely my favorite Rose Rose release among with the "Mosh of Ass" LP, "Born To Be..." EP and the split LP with SiC.

Note: The sleeve is in poor condition with wears and white-ish stains at the left side and top part. The vinyl is in EX- condition, plays perfectly. It's for sale since I finally managed to get a better copy.

Limited pressing of only 500 copies and there are supposed to be 30 copies with a different color sleeve.

Loud and rockin' Japanese punk rock. Cool band, but the label dude is a total dickhead.

'80s Japanese punk plus their own unique style. Can't really describe how awesome this EP is. Reminds me just a little bit of Typhus or early The Stalin, but Spit Out played much, much faster!! This record got a good review in MRR(1997). Self-released by the band's own label. Very, very rare and hard to find. Rarely seen for sale even in Japan due to the poor distibution at the time of release. Totally excellent EP!!!!!

Star Club, The "Anoko ni hitomebore" 7" flexi - Club The Star, 1984, Japan, (Club The Star 005) - $55
Mega-rare gig freebie-only flexi!! One of the hardest to find and most sought after S.C. releases of all. Contains a killer, fast and hard drivin' punk title track tune which was actually the very first song that was ever written by them right after the band was formed, however has never been officially recorded until 1984(Except the live version of this song appeared on the "Go To Hell" promo acetate 7" that they've pressed less than 5 copies in 1977.) Although this studio track isn't available on any of their other records, it's one of the most well known and loved S.C. tunes to their older fans. The flexi was given away free to fans only at one show at Loft in 1984(Says "Not For Sale" printed on it.) Some online resources say that it was the first flexi to be given away through their "Cosa Nostra" fan club('85~'90), but that's completely wrong.
Note: The flexi has a few tiny dents but plays perfectly. It's nothing major.

ok, as many of you probably already have heard their 1st flexi on the recent "Tunes For Fucker" boot LP and loved it. While this 2nd flexi has a completely different style, I personally think the music is also fucking great! Well, I bet they tried to play metallic Japcore style like Ghoul, Zouo, GISM etc., but came out much rawer and didn't sound as solid as those bigger name bands, ofcourse. More compareble to Headless or A.T.-Det, I'd say... It's really hard to say how much this flexi is worth because I've never seen it for sale on ebay etc. But it's extremely rare and hard to find for sure. Only seen a few times at some Japanese shops during past over 20 years. So you know the deal. I picked this second copy up for 9800 yen while I was there in 2005...
Transformer(Kikeiji + Masturbation) "Manoeuvre" 12" - Drug Store Club/Balcony, 1986, Japan, 1st press, Insert, (DSC-1001) - $50
Kikeiji + Masturbation!! Transformer was a short-lived ADK related band consisited of ex-Masturbation singer Hiryu, ex-Kikeiji guitarist Hiroshi, and Tatsushi who played in both bands. Totally ADK Records sound! Think of a cross between Kikeiji, The Stalin, Sekinin Tenka, and Masturbation. Awesome dark and solid sounding hard punk, but Transformer's songs are more uptempo, punkish and not as gloomy as Masturbation. I'd say they're much more comparable to The Stalin or Kikeiji. Great stuff, worth checking it out if you're into the ADK related bands. This is the original 1st press on black vinyl(Oddly the 2nd press was on the picture LP).

ABC Records also did a few other reissues of obscure early Braizilian HC stuff by the bands like Hino Mortal, Corte Marcial, Submundo and the great "ABC Hardcore '82" comp EP. According to Kill From The Heart, "ABC" region was Brazil's largest industrial complex in Sao Paulo, where the Brazilian Punk movement was born in '79 and Ulster was one of those very first bands.

No wonder this was released on Hold Up/Noise Room. United was also on the legendary Hold Up Omnibus comp LP. Max from Ghoul and Trash are listed on the Special Thanks list. If you dig that metal sound on the G.I.S.M. "M.A.N." LP, you probably will enjoy this as well.

Their first and the best! Totally killer, female fronted powerful Japanese punk!!! All the songs are atchy as hell. One of my all time favorite '80s Japanese bands. Nickey & The Warriors used to be called just Warriors. Early line-up featuring Keigo(The Stalin, G-Zet, Axe-Bomber, Cobra, The Star Club etc.) and Jack(aka Wang-Tang, ex-Baws, Mohawks and Laughin' Nose). The original drummer was Tatsuya, who also played in lots of bands like The Stalin, Masturbation, The Star Club, Genbaku Onanies and many others. Michiro Endo(The Stalin) produced and released one of the Nickey & The Warriors' later 12"s on his G.N.P. label. For those who aren't familiar with T.P.C. Records, it was a Tokyo based label that also did the C.O.P. LP, Masami(Ghoul) EP and No Lip EP.

Breaking Power The Prisoner / Dororo - 7" flexi - Self, 1985, Japan - $38
Completely unknown split release by these super-obscure bands from Osaka. Dororo might be a bit more known to a very few obsessive collectors, because they were included on the "Last Punk Osaka" comp LP(Very rare, by the way...) with early S.O.B., Outo, Brutas(Naoto's band before S.O.B.), Dither(Pre-Rapes) etc. Their guitarist went onto form Danse Macabre with ex-Zouo singer Cherry. This is their only ever release beside the comp tracks. B.P. The Prisoner did the self-released 8" flexi on or around the same year. On this split, they play some cool dark and metallic ADK-ish punk.

The Macrofarge side is so fucking good! They were one of the earliest Japanese crust-core bands that have the members from Acid and Liberate. Highly influenced by Doom and Sore Throat. If you're into classic U.K. crust or Japanese bands like Abraham Cross, S.D.S. or Anti Authorize, the you'll love Macrofarge. Too bad this is the only record they've ever released!

Top-notch, killer split release by these two traditional Burning Spirits style Japcore from Shizuoka city, done exactly in the tradition of old Shizuoka bands like So What, Rustler, Deadless Muss, Innocents etc. Both bands sound very similar to Death Side as well. This EP is a bit hard to find. Sugar's only release, Raid also has an album out on Discrete. They have two ex-members of Swindle Bitch, the band that released a split EP with So What.

Swat is kinda like The Stalin or Typhus style fast punk, with female vocals. One of their songs sounds a bit ADK-ish. Two tracks by Swat, with titles like "Death Boy" and "Roudousha-kaikyu"(The Proletariat). Sawaki Kazumi is from the old band called Hinokyu, who had the 7" out on City Rocker in '84. It's his project band playing some weird ass punk on this split.

Poison Arts / Matsuji / F.O.A.D.(Fuck Off And Die) / 666(Triangle Six of Death) - Cool 4-way split LP. The Matsuji tracks fucking kill!!! Their best material here. If you never heard of Matsuji, they've had an excellent(and VERY hard to find) EP called "Dead Voice" out on Slice Recs. Violent sounding heavy Japcore with mean as hell vocals! Nice metallic guitar riffs/solos as well. Their tracks on the "Nobody's Fault" comp LP are great, too. F.O.A.D. was a short-lived band consisted of the guitarist Max(ex-Ghoul) and Tatsuya(ex-The Stalin, Masturbation, The Star Club, Warriors etc.) Motorhead inspired, tight and drivin' hard punk. Pretty wild and tough sound. Guest guitars by Reika(Colored Ricemen, Human Arts etc.) This is their only ever released material on vinyl. Great metallic and thrashy HC from Triangle Six of Death. "Born To Die" is a true smasher! Similar to Casbah, but more HC vein on this LP. 5 tracks each by Poison Arts and Matsuji, 3 tracks each by F.O.A.D. and 666.

Face Of Change / Gnats Sucker / Face Of Death / Join Hands / Gods Guts / Forthcoming Wind - Legendary and mega-rare compilation of the late '80s~early '90s U.S. style Japanese hardcore bands from Sapporo city. 625 Thrashcore put out the demos by some of these bands onto vinyls 10 years later(Not on this comp 7", but Spit Fire is also related to these bands and their "Hardcore Discography 86-89" CD on 625 is a killer!). Most of the bands are unknown and hardly released anything else, but sound very energetic and angry. This comp was mostlikely distributed only locally(Sapporo is located in the northern Hokkaido island) at the time of release and is really, really hard to find now even in Japan.
