B-Strife "S/T" 7" EP - Skeleton, 1985, Japan, (S.R.-002) - $25
Released on the legendary Osaka based label Skeleton Records that put out the Coward & Gasmask 7"s. Ultra-raw and primitive HC with that '80s violent Japcore feel. They were planned to be on the unreleased Skeleton Records comp 8"("Sieg Heil Skeleton") with Gasmask, Crime, and Woodpeckers. 4 tracks incl. "Fuck The Clumsy Metal", "Tears Of '56" etc. These guys must have really hated metal as the chorus part on the song "Fuck The..." goes like "Metal kids, fuck off!!". Rumors that this song is about Randy Uchida from G.I.S.M.

CD. Synapse "Asphyxiation" 7" EP - 1.2.3 Record, 1986, Japan, New/Unplayed, (1.2.3 R-001R) - $45
What a great band... Metallic, heavy and straight-forward HC with a killer dark melody. Reminds me of The Execute, Geizz or Ghoul. Really sharp and solid, yet aggressive and chaotic sounding HC. The gruff vocals are awesome, too. From Osaka and had the two EP's and one flexi out on the band's own label. That's all I know about this band but the music is very essential. All their records are very rare. I managed to score an unplayed old stock copy somewhere in the countryside of Japan. Nice sleeve artwork: http://d.hatena.ne.jp/bitousha/20090207/1233981565

CD. Synapse "No.3" 7" EP - 1.2.3 Record, 1988, Japan, Small insert, New/Unplayed, (1.2.3 Record-003R) - $45
Sounds more punkish than the 1st EP and 2nd flexi. This one is probably even better!

Very sought-after and rare promo-only flexi that was given away at a X'mas show in Osaka. Never been for sale or available elsewhere. This is for sure the hardest to find Cobra release of all. The front sleeve says "Not For Sale". Self-released by the band's own label. Contains an unreleased song "Bad Night Merry X'mas" and an unlisted bonus track. Both tracks are exclusive to this flexi and have never been included on any of their other vinyls. Comes in a blue pocket sleeve with cool artwork & layouts. Only a few hundred copies made.

Hard to find EP by these U.K. 666 punks. Pre-Cress!! Amebix influenced, dark and metallic crust punk. It's the same band that was on the "Bullshit Detector 2" comp. Very rare and sought after 1st EP on Boston Tea Party label from Denmark, known for their releases like "Noget Pa Dansk" and "Lorteland". Unplayed old stock copy!
Note: The sleeve has a 3" mark from peeling of a tape at the bottom part and a few tiny thumbtack holes, otherwise in EX- condition. It doesn't really look that bad at all.

Descontrolados "S/T" CD - Latin Core/Resistencia, 200?, Ecuador, (LCR 006) - $7
Official discography CD by the first Ecuadorian punk band formed in '86. Contains the '88 demo and the "Piedad" EP.

Dessert "World Of Fantasy" 7" EP - Ranch, 1998, Japan, 1000 pressed, Clear vinyl w/ clear pink mixed, Stamped & numbered sleeve(# 461), Insert, Flyer, New/Unplayed, (Ranch-01/SEL-One) - $30
The singer Ryuji used to be in the legendary bands Disarray, Bitousha and also this great obscure band Mino 5 with Chelsea(Deathside/Paintbox) and Katsuta(Tetsu-Arrey). The other Dessert members were/are in Sekinin-Tenka, Bloodberry(ex-G-Zet), Idiot Idolaters, Laughin' Nose, The Pogo, Kenzi & The Trips etc. As you can imagine from their background, these guys sure know what they're doing and you know what to expect from Dessert. 120% Burning Spirits style traditional metallic Japcore ala Death Side, Judgement, Crude, Nightmare, Warhead, Forward etc. Awesome throaty vocals as well. They did a great Disarray cover on the other release. This 4-track EP is a totally heavy-hitting smasher. The vinyl looks amazing, too. It's on a clear vinyl with some clear pink parts mixed. Comes in a glossy perforated package/sleeve(unopened).

Dilenma "S/T" 7" EP - Armored Brain, 1995, Japan, (ABR-002EP) - $35
Fucking amazing band!!! In that good ol' dark metallic Japcore style ala Ghoul, Zouo, Rapes, G.I.S.M., Geizz or A.T.-Det, but Dilenma played their songs much faster with more thrashy, razor-sharp guitar riffs. Think of late Ghoul, Demolition or Rapes. Killer gruff vocals reminds me of Masami! The special thanks list includes Rapes, The Gaia, ex-Freedom singer etc. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite '90s Japanese HC records! Yes, I personally dig this style so much.

Dirge "Scarred Forever" 12" - Crust War, 2006, UK, Japanese release, Booklet, (Crust War-029) - $5
Thrashy and dark '80s UK Anarcho hardcore/crust. The studio demo and live materials on vinyl. Really great obscure band.

Originally released as the demo in '88. Old Swedish boot.

Doku-Buta(Poison Pig) "Go! Go! People" 7" flexi - Self, 1985, Japan, (No. Cat #) - $55
Think of a cross between Aburadako, Kikeiji, and The Stalin. If you like these bands, you'll love Doku-Buta! Another unknown but awesome ADK/The Stalin worshipped hard punk here. They even stole part of The Stalin lyrics and used it in one of their songs called "Egoist". The band bio printed on the sleeve says Doku-Buta is ex-Byogentai. I wonder if it's the same Byogentai that the L.S.D. singer was in! Includes 7 tracks. Very rare!! Here's a review taken from an old MRR issue: "Translating as "Poison Pig," I expected a bit more weirdness than supplied, but this slab of plastic contains some neat tracks. They can do thrash, punk, proto-punk -- all with verve and gnarly-ass vocals and guitar. Reminds me a bit of early PERE UBU."

Dread Yankees "Killer" 7" flexi - Adventure Family/Luv, 1989, Japan, Label mailorder flyer, (LUV-I) - $5
Very cool, fast and melodic U.S. style hardcore with the F.V.K. singer. Recommended for fans of SiC or F.V.K.

ex-Final Bloodbath. Discharge/Broken Bones inspired HC with the metallic and thrashy, Bones style guitars. Good!

Gai "1981-1985" Cassette - Violent Party, 1985, Japan, "Swankys History!" 2-sided insert included, (Violent Party No.?) - $60
Insanely rare and nearly impossible to find, cassette-only release. It's the original, the real deal. The sleeve spine says "History of GAI!". Came out around the time the "Very Best of Hero..." LP was released right after Gai changed back the name to The Swankys(Gai actually started as The Swankys in '81, then had to change the name to Gai in '83 due to being banned by the local clubs). Comes with a "Swankys History!" insert where Sieg-Heil is also mentioned. Not all copies came with one. Compiles the 17 various studio demo tracks, plus 1 unlisted bonus(?) track which is supposed to be called "Yes! Future". Some of the songs are completely unreleased and can be only heard on this tape. Also, as far as I know, all the tracks are unreleased, exclusive version to this tape and wern't taken from the other demos or the flexi. The "Damaging Noise" demo(Violent Party No.1) is from '83, so I'm guessing that some of the tracks on this tape were recorded even earlier and possibly their oldest materials. Violent Party was Gai's own label that also put out their other demos, Sieg-Heil, No Cut, Gess demos, "Violent Party Omnibus" etc. It was also reffered to the group of a bunch of local punks around Gai organizing the gigs in Kyushu(Hakata area), among with SS Company and Kuro's KPP Records.

Gasatsu(Crime Fighter) "Rude Beat" 7" EP - ADK, 1984, Japan, 1500 pressed, (ADK-19E) - $48
Produced, engineered & released by Tam(The Stalin/G-Zet/Typhus/ADK). 1st EP by this Tokyo based band that was on the "ADK Omnibus 2" the same year. The drummer also played in L.S.D.(on their 1st flexi) and another member was in Nira-Kodomo. Contains the 9 tracks(!!) of rough and speedy Punk/HC tunes.

Gasatsu(Crime Fighter) "Border Line" 7" EP - Neo Family, 1986, Japan, New/Unplayed, (Neo Family 009) - $35
This 2nd EP is actually harder to find than the 1st EP on ADK Records.

Gastunk "Wild Times(Live)" 7" flexi - Pusmort/Více, 1987, Japan, (AME-I) - $10
Originally came with the limited first press/mailorder copies of the "Under The Sun" LP(rare to find a complete copy with the bonus flexi). Some copies of this flexi were also sold at their shows.

Gauze "Fuckheads +" LP - Bouchou, 2005, Japan, Booklet, New/Unplayed, (ZYL/Bouchou 001) - $18
Boot LP contains the "Fuckheads" LP and tracks from the "Outsider" and "City Rockers" comp's.

Gendou Missile "Attarimeeyo" 7" EP - Hold Up/Noise Room, 1986, Japan, (NRR-E012) - $25
Awesome hard drivin' Japanese punk with gruff vocals! Fucking great band, great EP. Cool yakuza-ish lyrics as well. This is probably the least known Hold Up/Noise Room release outside of Japan. Max from Ghoul is listed on the Special Thanks list. Gendou Missile used to play with both Japcore style and punk rock bands.

Genoli "No Identity" 7" EP - Self, 198?, Japan, (No Cat. #) - $25
Aburadako influenced twisted punk from Tokyo. Quite obscure stuff. Their only release.

Ghoul "Jerusalem" 7" EP - Hold Up/Noise Room, 1985, Japan, w/ mailorder-only sticker & flyer, (NRR-E007) - $60
Only the limited quantity of the mailorder copies came with a color sticker(band logo & mohawked skull) and/or a t-shirt mailorder flyer insert. The ones that's complete with both are pretty rare. Classic 2nd EP by this legendary Japcore band.

Griffin FZ "Retaliation" 7" flexi - Self, 1989, Japan, (Otoko-001) - $78
Pre-Zone!! Obscure Shizuoka-city Japcore band. This flexi is very rare and hard to come by. The only ever release by them besides a great split demo with Exdead. Heavy-hitting, speedy and metallic Japcore in the tradition of those great '80s Shizuoka-city bands(Deadless Muss, So What, Rustler, Innocents etc.)

Gudon "Hikashibou" 7" EP - Kagai-Mousou, 1986, Japan, (Kagai-Mousou 003) - $40

HCP(Hard Core Poznan) "Anti Drugs" 7" EP - Resistance Productions/International Hardcore Movement, 1989, Poland, 1000 pressed, Hand #'d poster sleeve, New/Unplayed, (RIP 027) - $20
Fucking killer band!!! Pre-Apatia. Definitely one of my favorite '80s Polish HC records. Ultra-raw, noisy and brutal HC with intensely distorted guitar like early Brazilian or Finnish bands. This should appeal not only to Polish HC fans, but also to those who dig any Scandinavian, Italian, Brazilian and Japanese HC/Crust as well!! Man, this is seriously some powerful ripping shit!! Released on a Swiss label. Unplayed old stock copy of this rare obscure EP.

Heartwork "S/T" 7" EP - Dewa/Cadmium Sick, 2002, Japan, (DR-007) - $3

Insane Youth "Breakthrough Blockbuster" 7" EP - Dan-Doh, 1996, Japan, (Dan-Doh 001) - $28
Rare 1st EP and this is the very first Dan-Doh release. Featuring Souichi(Forward, ex-Gudon) on vocals/bass. This EP is much better than their tracks on the split with Disclose or any of the later releases.

Izumo Punks "S/T" 7" flexi - Izumo Punk, 1988, Japan, w/ sticker, New/Unplayed, (Izumo Punk Records-0001) - $25
I bet nobody has ever even heard of them. I myself discovered this great unknown band very recently. According to the band biography printed inside the sleeve, these teenage punks from Izumo city, Shimane prefecture, decided to do the recording just a day after(!!) forming the band on Aug. 30th '88 and release this flexi the following month even before playing the first gig on Oct. 2nd '88. What you get here on this gem is the 100% pure, raw, fast-paced, powerful yet catchy-as-hell, hard drivin' '80s Japanese style punk rock. When you listen to these songs, you can kinda imagine how these young punks with full of energy just wanting to start out something "new" in the shitty country side where there wasn't a big scene, grab the instruments and start screaming the same day they thought of it. What I heard is that these guys were active locally and invited the bigger name bands from the major cities like Lip Cream, Death Side, Tetsu-Arrey, Gudon, S.O.B. to their small town to play the gigs there. I know nothing about the Izumo punk scene except there's one of those old MCR city comp's called "Izumo City HC". The first time I heard this flexi, I just fucking loved it. The silly ass drawings on the cover artwork and bonus sticker too. I was lucky enough to have my friend get in touch with a friend of an ex-band member's and obtained several remaining old stock copies that they tried to get rid of(took me a while and lots of work during this process though). Once these are gone, they're gone for good.

Jellyroll Rockheads "Intense And Mild" 7" EP - 625 Thrashcore, 2000, Japan, 1000 pressed, (625 #43) - $4

Junk Schizo "Crime of Existence" 7" EP - AA, 1984, Japan, Poster sleeve, New/Unplayed, (AA-010) - $25

Kikeiji "Hello-Good Bye" 7" EP - Ducasse, 1985, Japan, Insert, (ID-002) - $30
The last and great EP by this classic ADK punk band. The band members including Hiroshima(G.I.S.M., R.U.G. etc.), Tatsushi(Masturbation) and Hiroshi(Masturbation). Liner-notes on an insert written by Sakevi(G.I.S.M.) Ducasse Label(pre-S.E.X./Sunshine Sherbet Records) also put out the Real 8" and Mannequin Neurose 7".

Knugen Faller "Skellefte Stadshotell" 7" EP - Cage Match Federation/Wasted Sounds, 2004, Sweden, Clear red vinyl, (CMF 013) - $10

Kriminela 83 "S/T" 7" EP - Pogo 77, 1997, Japan, 2 x insert, (Pogo 4) - $25
Fucking high-speed raw noisecore!!! They play faster than any other noisecore bands that I can think of. Kinda like Dislike or early Disorder playing their songs much faster and with high tension. Good stuff. Last copy available. Review taken from the Damaging Noise blog: " '90s-ish speedy Jap noisecore. I'm pretty sure they preferred Gai to S.O.B., but this gets pretty fast."

Kyojinbyo "Fukkatsu" 7" EP - Museum, 1987, Japan, (HC-900106) - $35

L.S.D. "Destroy" 7" flexi - ADK, 1983, Japan, 1st press w/ orig. sleeve artwork & lyrics printed inside, (ADK-07S) - $120

L.S.D. "Destroy" 7" flexi - ADK, 1983, Japan, 2nd press w/ different sleeve artwork, (ADK-07S) - $120

(L.S.D.) V.A. "Lunatic" 7" EP - Lunatic, 1986, Japan, (TD-001) - $110
Datsustora / Criminal Party(L Project) / MEP / Freaks - This ultra-obscure comp was produced by the L.S.D. singer Achy and also it was released on his label Lunatic Records. Contains the three different bands that he did vocals for(he's credited as Elle), plus one unknown band called Freaks. Datsustora's music is in the vein of ADK style dark, hard and twisted punk mixed with some noise/avant-garde. They also have a very rare flexi out on Lunatic Records(the songs on this flexi sound similar to Byogentai, which is another band he did around the same time as L.S.D.). I love their stuff. Freaks are the female fronted, dark and solid punk that's similar to Masturbation, Aka, or Kikeiji. Killer tune on this comp. I absolutely have no infos on this band, but would love to hear more from them. MEP consisted by Achy and Morikawa from ZOA, and they were mostlikely the studio-only project for this EP. Total violent mix of noise/experimental/goth/industrial/punk/noisecore. Awesome distorted vocals. Crazy shit! Criminal Party is actually a bit known in the Japanese underground noise/avant scene and there are some cassette-only releases besides the tracks on this comp. This one is plain noise/experimental stuff, similar to what Sakevi used to do under the name of S.K.V., with no punk/hardcore essence in their tunes(unlike the other three bands). This EP is rare as fuck. Great sleeve artworks. It's not very known that the L.S.D. singer had the other bands besides Byogentai.

Ladies Room "Swapping Party" 7" EP - Extasy, 1988, Japan, (EXE-001) - $15
Ultra catchy, speedy and melodic '80s Japanese metal on X's Extasy Records, the same label that released the Poison "Mystery Temptation" EP.

Laughin' Nose "Get The Glory" 7" EP - AA, 1983, Japan, 1000 pressed, Poster sleeve, (AA Records 001) - $120
Very rare 6-track 1st EP from when they were still playing ultra-raw and chaotic noisecore. Killer stuff!!! This is also the very first AA Records release.

Laukaus "Mikä On Tuolla?" 7" EP - Distort, 2002, Japan, 500 pressed, (Distort 001) - $28

Less Haze "Break The Law" 7" EP - Skull, 1991, Japan, (Skull-01) - $10
Straight-forward fast Japcore in the similar style as DonDon, Gil, Outo and some of the late '80s Selfish Records stuff. Self-released 1st EP.

'80s Japanese style punk rock ala The Star Club etc. Completely unknown band...

New Walls "S/T" 8" flexi - Line, 1984, Japan, (Line-002) - $25
Like the harder version of Nickey & The Warriors. Great rockin' hard punk rock with really cool female volcals! Featuring ex-members of Poisonous Cross Gibbet and Headless. The vocal style reminds me of Chitose from The Comes. Rare obscure release on Line Records(New Walls' label) that also put out the Rose Rose 1st flexi, P.C.G. 2nd flexi etc.

Nickey & The Warriors "Dreams" CD - Captain, 1989/87, (CAP-1041-CD) - $20
Much rarer CD version of the 1st LP. Many of the original Captain Records CD's(Lip Cream, Gas etc.) are even harder to find than the LP's. Those were released right before the label disappeared and not so many copies of them were pressed.

Non Fiktion Noiz "¡Contaminación Mundial!" 7" EP - SouthKore, 2004, US, 500 pressed, Insert, (SK 001) - $3

O-Geletzt Special Issue - Photo Zine - O-Geletzt, 1987, Japan, 50 slick pages & color covers, (No Cat. #) - $28
It's kinda like the photo zine that MRR did back in the '80s except this one's got a little better quality/production. Lip Cream, The Bad Lots(ex-Ghoul/Masami), Gasatsu(Crime Fighter), New Roteeka, Kenzi, The Blue Hearts, The Pogo, Loud Machine, The Strummers etc. There's also a cool pic of Jha-Jha(Lip Cream) showing his funny underwear that he's wearing right next to Masami's face.

One River "A Breathing Will" 7" EP - Revive, 2001, Japan, Poster sleeve, Printed inner-bag sleeve & Sticker, (THEP-1001) - $5
5 tracks of intense and raging thrash HC. Totally manic. Don't let the band name fool you. Fans of the bands on 625 definitely should check this out. Nice packaging.

'80s Swedish HC style ala S.O.D., Disarm, Absurd meets distorted Kyushu noisecore!!! The only release ever(and it's very rare) by this killer short-lived band from Kyushu. Wish they've released at least one record! Noisy and chaotic HC attack like the title says, cool artwork and excellent production. Perfect!!!

Original/early line-up featuring the ex-members of Crow, Outo, Chicken Bowels and S.O.B. This is their best work in my opinion.

Obscure KBD style, wavey and rockin' punk from Kyushu. Rare self-released 1st EP. ex-Sheena & The Rokkets!

SS-20 "I Never Change The Life" 7" EP - Self, 1993, Japan, 300 pressed, New/Unplayed, (No Cat. #) - $35
Yes, this is SS-20 from Japan, not those other bands with the same name from Mexico, Poland, Italy or France. They've existed from '87 and probably broke up not too long after this release which is the only record they've ever done as far as I know. Awesome solid sounding Japanese hard punk in the vein of The Stalin("Stop Jap" era), with a bit of ADK touch. Sounds very similar to The Stalin, actually. The songs are pretty catchy yet hard and strong. The chorus parts on the song like "Kill or Killed" and the title track are so damn good! The guitar riffs sound so shorp. Fucking brilliant. I love this style. Man, it was released in the early '90s but all the songs totally sound like if they were from the mid '80s. Could easily be on ADK or City Rocker Records if this came out back then. This 7" was self-released by the band themselves and sold only at their shows and an old shop in Kanagawa that one of the band members worked at. That makes it nearly impossible to find after 16 years of its release. Some copies came with a tiny release show flyer says "This EP is our final warning. Strictly limited to 300 copies only, sold at our future shows & mailorder. No repress!"(in Japanese).

Sabotaasi "Kulissit" One-sided 7" EP - Kahlenukke, 1987, Finland, 200 pressed, Insert, (Reaktio-3) - $25
Traditional Finnish HC, recorded in '86. Some of the members went onto form Juggling Jugulars. Only 200 copies of this 1st EP were pressed. 500 each of the later EP's, I believe. http://cheerspunx87.ld.infoseek.co.jp/SABOTAASI(MAIN).html This EP recently sold on ebay for $78... ouch.

Samé "Cyborg-Keikaku" 7" EP - Premium, 1988, Japan, (No Cat. #) - $50
Ultra-rare and unknown 7" on Ikka-Shinju's Premium Records. Very obscure one here. 6 tracks of fucking killer metallic Japcore!! As far as I know, it's the only non Ikka-Shinju release done by their label. The band's only ever release besides the "I'll Gather Up" comp tracks. Full-color, wicked sleeve artwork. Note: The band name is supposed to be read in the Japanese way "Sāmé"(Shark) not like the English word "Same".

Samé "Cyborg-Keikaku" 7" EP - Premium, 1988, Japan, New/Unplayed, (No Cat. #) - $55

Smash Your Face "Disappere Everything" 7" EP - Ride On, 1996, Japan, (Ride On-001) - $3

"dirty, nasty, fuckin' high energy" mixture of early LA punk (ala Germs, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, The Dwarves, and The Stooges) and early Japanese hardcore such as Lip Cream.

Classic 3rd 7" with their most well-known song "Romantist"(a.k.a. "Romanchisto" or "Romanticist"). Includes a B-side track that's not on the LP's. The best live photo of Michiro on the front cover.

Stalin, The "Allergy/No Fun" 7" - Climax/Tokuma, 1982, Japan, (CMA-2033) - $28
The killer classic tunes on this EP. Includes a B-side track that's not on the LP's.

Stalin, The "Stalinism" 12" - Independent/B.Q., 1987, Japan, Insert, (Independent 009ML) - $40
Official collection of their early classics. Compiles the "Dendou-Kokeshi" 1st flexi(Political, 1980), "Stalinism" EP(Political, '81), "Vacuum" mailorder-only bonus flexi for the "Fish Inn" LP(B.Q., '84), "Chicken Farm Chicken" off the "Welcome To 1984" comp LP(MRR, '84).
Note: There's a scratch that doesn't affect playing.

(Stalin, The) Video-Stalin "Ultra Sex Man/24 jikan ai no Fascism" 7" flexi - BQ, 1987, Japan, Plain blue sleeve, (BQS-011) - $35
Super-rare, gig freebie-only flexi that was given away at their first show at Loft prior to the VHS and LP releases. This flexi is totally unknown, even to those Michiro/The Stalin fanatic collectors!! A few hundred copies made? Nearly impossible to find. You won't see this for sale again.

Star Club, The "Anoko ni hitomebore" 7" flexi - Club The Star, 1984, Japan, Gig freebie, (The Star Club No.7/CSR 005) - $40
Mega-rare gig freebie-only flexi! One of the hardest to find and most sought-after S.C. releases of all. Contains a killer, fast and hard drivin' punk title track tune which was actually the very first song that was ever written by them right after the band was formed, however has never been officially recorded until 1984(Except the live version of this song appeared on the "Go To Hell" acetate 7" that they've pressed less than 5 copies in 1977.) Although this studio track isn't available on any of their other records, it's one of the most well known and loved S.C. tunes to their older fans. The flexi was given away free to fans only at one show at Loft in 1984(Says "Not For Sale" printed on it). Some online resources say that it was the first flexi to be given away through their "Cosa Nostra" fan club(existed '85~'90), but that's a wrong info.

State "No Illusions" 7" EP - Reagan Era HC, 2001, US, Insert - $3 Originally self-released on Statement Records in '83.

Still "Real Time" 7" EP - Strawberry, 1985, Japan, Photo card insert, Clear PVC sleeve, New/Unplayed, (P-2006) - $10
Produced by Tsunematsu Masatoshi from Friction and E.D.P.S. Melodic darkwave with good female vocals. Featuring a Jagatara member. Reminds me of the British 4AD stuff. The singer was also a guest member for Tsunematsu's solo LP.

Stupid Babies Go Mad! "S/T" 7" EP - Human Stench, 2000, Japan, (Stench 07) - $3

Suicide "S/T" 7" flexi - Bizarre, 1984, Japan, Insert, Clear red flexi, (No Cat. #) - $35
Produced by Atsushi Kaneko from The Stalin. Self-released 1st flexi. I thought their 2nd EP "Warning For The World Punks" is very good but this flexi is even much better. Like an old zine review says, I can definitely hear The Stalin influence and the song "Heroes(Your Dirty Face)" sounds like one of the songs on The Stalin's "Stop Jap" LP!! Really good stuff. Very mid '80s Japanese punk sounding release.

Suicide "Celebration" 7" EP - Captain, 1985, Japan, (CAP-0003-E) - $15

Swankys, The "More Fuck" Demo Tape - Self, 1985, Japan, Red sleeve w/ green outer slipcase package, (No Cat. #) - $60
Original!!!! Early Swankys recording(w/ orig. members) from right after they switched the name back from Gai to The Swankys in '85. Nice packaging.

Swankys, The "Best Of Lifestyle" 12" - King's World, 1989, Japan, 1000 pressed, Clear vinyl, Clear PVC sleeve, (KK 008) - $68
Contains the 3 tracks from the "This Is My Lifestyle" 1st EP('85, KPP Rec.) on Side A and the 3 tracks by Gai on Side B. All the songs are in their early noisy HC punk style. This is probably the second hardest to find Swankys/Gai records of all. Rarely seen for sale outside of Japan.

Sweet Weapon "Overheat" 7" EP - Adventure Family/Nitro(Water Land), 198?, Japan, (NTR-01) - $15
Quite unusual release by Adventure Family Records. This sounds more like KBD stuff. Uptempo and a bit wavey punk rock. Adventure Family put out mainly HC bands from the Yokosuka area and also Water Land did the Janky/Mad Conflux split and I believe the Front Guerrilla 7" as well. I know nothing about this band though.

Tam Boy Ide "Bootleg" 10" - ADK, 1984, Japan, (ADK-18M) - $98
The studio-only project band by Tam(The Stalin/G-Zet/Typhus/Adk Records). Very rare ADK release.

Catchy, melodic and fun punk rock with sharp and trashy rockin' guitar riffs. Completely unknown band here. Some of the members went onto form The Pogo and Kenzi.

Rare original '89 CD issue of their first and the best album ever. Contains an extra non-LP bonus track. All the late '80s CD releases(like Gas, Lip Cream etc.) of Captain Records are way harder to find than the original LP's.

+++ SPLIT +++

Ashes / Crowd "Hostility" 7" EP - Overthrow, 1991, Japan, (Overthrow-02) - $25
Early release by Overthrow Rec. Both are unknown but pretty good Japcore bands from Nagoya city. The Crowd side especially stands out here. Totally blazing metallic Japcore that reminds me of Burning Spirits style with a slight crust touch.

Crucial Section / Lie - 7" flexi - In Your Fuck, 1998, Japan, Ltd version of 50 copies w/ hand-numbered orange sleeve, (No Cat. #) - $28

Crude / Violence Moment "Blood Sucking Freaks IV" 7" EP - Blood Sucker, 1996, Japan, (BSR-019) - $30

Delta(ex-S.D.S.) / Rocky & The Sweden / Balzac "Abstruct Madness" CD - DiwPhalanx, 2001, Japan, 600 pressed, Ltd tour-only release, Insert, Clear purple zippered PVC package, (PX-068) - $30
Very rare 3-way split CD which was only available during the Abstruct Madness/Noise Rock 2001 tour by these 3 bands together. Delta was a short-lived band by all the ex-S.D.S. members except a drummer was ex-Iconoclast. Awesome, ultra-fast and metallic HC. Their songs sound fucking sharp and aggressive as hell. I personally like them even better than S.D.S.!!! The 1st EP was planned to be released on MCR, but sadly they broke up before releasing anything besides a few comp appearances on the Mangrove label CD, the Destroy 'zine comp 12"/CD etc. The Delta tracks on this split are "War Machine", "Sons of Distraction" and "Statik Love-Statik Loud". All of them are killer!!! Rocky does a kick-ass Japanese cover of Ultra Violent "Crime For Revenge" and one original song. Nice packaging and punkish cover artwork.

Dick Spikie / Thug Hostage "Total Solution Volume One" 7" EP - Dynamite, 1998, Japan, Dist. by MCR, (DR-005) - $8
Great U.K. '82 styled, fast HC bands. Check it out if you're into the bands like Actives, Skeptix, The Insane, Instant Agony, The Bristles etc.

S.O.B. / Outo - Split 7" EP - Coretic, 1989(?), Japan, 1st press of 200 on black vinyl w/ pink sleeve & sliver labels, Hand-numbered label, (Coretic-01) - $35
This is the "original" 1st pressing from the late '80s(or '90?), on black vinyl with a pink-ish sleeve. Also the center labels are metallic silver. Only 200 of these "real" ones were made back then. These are rarely seen for sale nowadays. More recent reissues were pressed on various colors of vinyl with a black & white slick sleeve and the white center labels. Who knows how many copies of those recent ones were really pressed(definiately way more than 200, although almost everywhere online states so).

Total Fury / The Jury - 7" EP - Gloom, 2007, Japan/US, 500 pressed, Ltd U.S. tour press, Gray marbled vinyl, Hand-numbered sleeve(# 352), Insert, (Gloom-040) - $8

Gasatsu(Crime Fighter) / Molugu / Gabell / Glycerin - Volume two of the legendary comp by ADK Records. Produced, engineered & released by Tam(The Stalin/G-Zet/Typhus/ADK). The whole comp is awesome. The Glycerin tracks are much more raw and chaotic HC sounding than the later 8" EP on AA Records.

Abikyokan - 7" EP - MCR, 1994, Japan, 700 pressed, Poster sleeve, w/ sticker, (MCR-071) - $38
Accomplice / Blaze / Geshpenst / Ouda

Final Noise Attack - 7" EP - MCR, 1994, Japan, 700 pressed, Poster sleeve, (MCR-070) - $50
Condemned / Defiance / Reason Why / Despair - One of the most wanted and harder to find, early Japanese crust records. Limited to only 700 copies. The title was named after the series gigs that was organized by Gloom back in the early to mid '90s. Compiles some of the best and earliest Osaka raw noise crust bands. Rare appearance by Condemned featuring Jacky from Crust War, who'd later join Gloom and Framtid. Defiance had Jhonio(Gloom/Defector), Habi(Gloom) and Kako(Warcry). None of these 4 bands have ever released anything beside the demos and being on the comp's!

Fledgeling Punx(Nouzui Omnibus Vol.1) - 7" EP - Nouzui, 1987, Japan, Poster sleeve, New/Unplayed, (NR-001E) - $30
Gagize / Re Zist / Sword / Weedy Eggs - Awesome obscure Japcore comp by the DonDon singer's old label. Re Zist and Gagize are known for their great flexi's on Half Alive Records. Sword and Gagize are also on the "Shodoku Gig" LP on Selfish. The front sleeve photo has a crowd of punks from some show and there's young Ishiya from Death Side smiling in the middle. I got my own copy in '88 and just recognized his face in the photo after 20 years.

Game Of Death - LP - Slice, 1989, Japan, Poster sleeve, Insert, (No Cat. #) - $58
Death Side / Ghoul / Poison Arts / Final Bombs - This is the "Slice Omnibus Vol.2". 4~5 tracks by each band. The whole LP rips!

Give Us The Time To Play! - 2 x 7" - Lifestyle Sound, 1990, Japan, Gatefold booklet sleeve, Dist. by MCR, (Soul-001) - $15
Fat Slave / Banish Arms / Gang Thrust / Half Life / Rich Materally - Late '80s~early '90s Sendai-city Japcore bands.

Go Ahead Make My Day(Smashing Oddsness 2) - LP - Oddsness, 1989, Japan, Fold-out insert, (OD-002) - $68
Bastard / Asbestos / Don Don / SiC / Complete / Sweats / Sicilian Blood / F.V.K. / Idora - All the bands' recordings are exclusive to this rare comp. The Bastard material is not even included in the official discography CD. Different version of "Wind Of Pain"!! The Sicilian Blood songs are very good on this comp., with that Gauze sounding, in-your-face Japcore style. Oddsness label was made only to release the "Smashing Oddsness" 8" EP(Deathside, Crück etc.) and this LP. Sweats featured the ex and later members of Rocky & The Sweden, Headless, Systematic Death, Idora etc.

Lunatic - 7" EP - Lunatic, 1986, Japan, (TD-001) - $110
Also, it's not very known that the L.S.D. singer had the other bands besides Byogentai.

No Way I'm In Panic - 7" EP - Mangrove, 1998, Japan, (ROOT-012) - $3
Assfort / Flux Cored Wire / Freaks - F.C.W. also had the EP's out on MCR and Dicipline label. Quite unknown band but pretty tough sounding, straight-forward traditional Japcore but with noisy distorted guitars. Freaks plays some kick-ass, fast and noisy thrash HC and their track is called "Faster". The Assfort tracks is a crazy re-mixed version of their old tune "Ejaculation".

Nobody's Fault(Sulais Omnibus Vol.1) - LP - Slice(Sulais), 1988, Japan, Poster sleeve, Insert, (No Cat. #) - $28
Poison Arts / Nira-Kodomo / Rose Rose / Matsuji / Clod / Crisis Kill - Great late '80s Japcore comp on the Poison Arts singer's old label Slice(Sulais) Records. Sleeve artwork by Sugi. The Poison Arts and Matsuji tracks kick ass. All the Matsuji materials are so damn good!!! Crisis Kill guitarist later played in Rocky & The Sweden.

Death Side / Nightmare / Crück / Bandit / Warhead Junk(ex-Gudon) / Kathabuta

Abraham Cross / Collapse Society / Battle Of Disarm / Crocodile Skink - Killer compilation with some of the best '90s Japanese crust bands. Awesome noise crust & fucked up EngRish lyrics at it's best. Very first D.I.Y. Records release. Hard to find.

Tosamono(Kochi Hardcore Comp.) - 2 x 7" EP - Dan-Doh, 1997, Japan, Poster sleeve, (Dan-Doh 007) - $18

Tour De Farce - 7" EP - Empty, 1986, Int'l, 2 x insert, (MT-017) - $45
Guerrilla Urbana(a.k.a. Ataque Frontal/Peru) / Guerrilla Urbana(Spain) / No Lip(Japan) / Doc Wör Mirran(Germany) / Büld(Denmark) / Armatrak(New Zealand) - Extremely rare and obscure, mid '80s compilation featuring Ataque Frontal when they were still called Guerrilla Urbana before they've changed their name in order to avoid hassle from the authorities. This is the only release by them under the name of Guerrilla Urbana, besides the '85 demo which ended up being a split tape with HHH from Spain. Also on this great comp are some good bands like Guerrilla Urbana from Spain and No Lip from Japan, with Roger Armstrong from SiC and Dead Cops.

You Can Set The Dove Free...But What About The Hawk? - LP - ????, 1996, Japan, 2 x insert, (No Cat. #) - $55
Crow / So What / Jyuden-Souchi / The Sexual - Rare old boot with the four classic '80s Japcore records, incl. Crow "Who Killed Dove?" EP, So What "Injustice" flexi, Jyuden-Souchi "Deadline" flexi, and The Sexual "The Last Days" flexi. Very nicely done with the original cover artworks reprinted on the inserts. This LP is the lesser known and harder to find Japcore boot than many of the others.

Chaos "Revolution!" 7" EP - Downer Recordings, 2005, Japan, 300 pressed, Stamped & # 'd poster sleeve(# 264), Logo stamped inner sleeve & label, (DOR-CH-001ep) - $40
Commented by Ishiya(Forward/Death Side) on the sleeve. Awesome, distorted noise HC from Oita, Kyushu. Distorted vocals and fuzzed-out guitars over the crashing violent HC tunes. Very limited and hard to find 1st EP by this long-running band. Sounds totally different from their past materials like the "Oita City HC" comp tracks on MCR. Recommended for fans of Chaos CH, Dust Noise, Chaos U.K., Disorder or '80s Kyushu noisecore bands like Gai, The Swankys, Confuse etc.

Chaos U.K. "Just Mere Slaves" LP - Selfish, 1986, UK, Orig. Japanese press, (BEL-12001) - $48

Chu-Doku "S/T" 7" flexi - Museum/Blue Complex, 1985, Japan, (BM-87301) - $38
Obscure all-female punk band, sounds very similar to early Nurse or the female vox-era Typhus. Their later stuff sounds more different and poppier, but this 1st flexi is a killer. Released on the same Chiba-city based label that put out the Kyojinbyo 7"s.

Cobra "1984" 7" EP - AA, 1984, Japan, Poster sleeve, (AA-008) - $48

Cobra "Bad Night Merry X'mas" 7" flexi - Office Cobra, 1985, Japan, Gig freebie/Promo-only, (Office Cobra 001) - $58

Cobra Noir "S/T" 7" EP - Dead City, 2004, Canada, Ltd to 200 on white vinyl, Insert, Label flyer, Stickered poly sleeve, (DCR 002) - $4

Their earliet recording from 1983(possibly from their 1st demo that's rumored to exist), even before the "Indignation" demo('84) and the "Nuclear Addicts" flexi. Kings World Records put it out on vinyl the four years after. These tracks are ultra-raw and noisy as fuck. Classic Kyushu noisecore at it's best.

Official limited vinyl issue of the legendary 13-track demo tape from '84. Recorded prior to the 1st flexi. One of the best Confuse materials for sure. Self-released on the band's own Anarchy Center and Confuse Records. Killer band photos/artworks on the sleeve!

Deformed "Sacrifice!!" 7" EP - Boston Tea Party, 1983, UK, Clear red vinyl, Poster sleeve, (NM/VG+), (Hø Hø 8) - $28

G-Zet "S/T" 12" - ADK, 1984, Japan, Never issued w/ insert, (ADK-14A) - $90
The legendary band featuring Tam(The Stalin, Typhus, ADK Records), Pill(Lip Cream) and Keigo(The Stalin, Masturbation, The Star Club, Warriors). G-zet had the various singers including Achy from L.S.D. and Hiromi from Bitousha/Rebel(after changing the name to Bloodberry). All the three members do the vocals on this 12". Killer Mötorhead influenced, high-energy violent HC. Fucking brilliant.

Gas "The Day After" 7" flexi - Jisatsu Label, 1984, Japan, w/ "Why" newsletter insert, (GL-002ES) - $78
Just a few infos on the insert. Not all the copies of this Gas flexi or any other Jisatsu Label releases came with the newsletter insert. As far as I know, only the mailorder copies did. This one is a nice, large size fold-out insert with the band photos, bio, label news etc.

Gastunk "Heartful Melody Four Islands Tour '86" Book - Love/Music Vision, 1986, Japan, Full color covers, (No Cat. #) - $45
Glossy tour book/program contains tons of awesome early live photos etc. Only sold during their '86 tour where the "To Fans" EP was given away. Professionally made with thick, slick pages. VERY fucking rare.

Only the limited quantity of the mailorder copies came with a color sticker(band logo & mohawked skull) and/or a t-shirt mailorder flyer insert. The ones that's complete with both are pretty rare. Classic 2nd EP by this legendary Japcore band.

Gil "To Us Conflict Is Not Important" 7" EP - Self, 1988, Japan, Poster sleeve, LP-size folded insert, (LM-2010) - $40
This EP is much, much better and sounds waaaaay more HC than their 1st flexi. Can't believe it's the same band... What you get here is 120% raging, late '80s Selfish Records style Japcore at it's best!! Really powerful stuff. This 2nd EP is pretty hard to come by, and is rarely seen for sale.

Hakuchi "Gods Disturb" 7" EP - Overthrow, 1993, Japan, Insert, (Overthrow-006) - $45
Top-notch dark metallic crust from Niigata. Great EP by this pre-AGE band. One of the eariest Japanese crust bands. Hakuchi also had a split LP with Disclose. This is the harder to find, early release by Overthrow Records.

Kyaah "Slapdash" 7" EP - AA, 1985, Japan, Die-cut sleeve, Insert & sticker, (AA-011) - $40
Great 2nd EP by one of the most well known all-female punk bands in Japan. Their later releases sound poppier and aren't that exciting but the first two EP's are awesome! What you get on this EP is speedy and high-energy punk that's similar to the Nurse flexi, Typhus '80 demo(w/ female vox), or Chu-Doku flexi. Guest chorus by the members from Lip Cream, Bloodberry, and Laughin' Nose. The interesting thing is that when they changed the singer prior to this EP release, Chitose(The Comes) was gonna join the band however that never happened(too bad!). Complete copy with an insert and a red sticker which is actually part of the sleeve design(a sticker appear thru the die-cut window).

Kyoaku-Kyojindan "No!" LP - Taiyo, 1988, Japan, Insert, (LEO-051) - $55
Very, very rare and awesome 1st LP by this cult Japanese HC band. They play dark, aggressive and violent HC/Punk with a definite The Stalin("Mushi"-era) or some ADK influence on this 19-track album. Intensely noisy tunes and crazy lyrics, too. This LP is way better than any of their other releases for sure. Featuring Crazy SKB who runs Satsugai Enka Vinyl and also was/is in the bands like Headwasher, Hi-Technology Suicide, QP Crazy etc. Amazing insane artwork by the legendary manga artist Suehiro Maruo(!!!), who also did The Stalin "Mushi" artwork. Guest appearance by Machizo Machida from Inu and Juntaro Yamanouchi from Gerogerigegege.

Kyojinbyo "Fukkatsu" 7" EP - Museum, 1987, Japan, (HC-900106) - $35
