APR. 29TH 2010 (PART 3 : SPLIT & V/A)

+++ SPLIT +++

Ashes / Crowd "Hostility" 7" EP - Overthrow, 1991, Japan, (Overthrow-02) - $25
Early release by Overthrow Records. Both are unknown but pretty good Japcore bands from the Nagoya area. The Crowd side especially stands out here. Totally blazing metallic Japcore that reminds me of the "Burning Spirits" style with a slight crust touch. Another underrated band?

Avskum / Reality Crisis "Waiting For Another Bloodbath" 10" - Answer, 2000, Sweden/Japan, Insert, (ANSF-008) - $48

B.P.(Breaking Power) The Prisoner / Dororo - 7" flexi - Self, 1985, Japan, (No Cat. #) - $25
Dororo is the same band that's on the "Last Punk Osaka" comp LP. Long-running band from Osaka, with a member of Danse Macabre(ex-Zouo singer's band). I actually love their two demos that came out about 10 years ago. B.P. The Prisoner might be a bit more known outside of Japan as I've seen their 8" flexi posted on somebody's blogs before. On this split, they play some solid and dark ADK-ish punk that reminds me a bit of Kikeiji, but sounds much heavier and with metallic guitar riffs. Dororo on this split is kind of generic rockin' punk. Their other stuff is way better.

Battle Of Disarm / Subcaos "Disarm Or Die/Museifu" 7" EP - D.I.Y., 1995, Japan/Portugal, Poster sleeve, (D.I.Y.-EP-009) - $20

Blood Feast / Poison Cola "Kohrin" 7" EP - Bater/Discrete, 1994, Japan, 500 pressed, 2 x insert(1 oversized), (BR-021/DIS-005) - $35
Here's another one of those lesser-known, but really fucking good yet hard to find Japanese records from the '90s. Occasionally seen on the want lists. Took me a while to get myself a copy, too. While the Poison Cola tracks are excellent, all the Blood Feast tracks rip so damn fucking hard(imo) that the Poison Cola side hasn't been played as much on my turntable. These Blood Feast tracks on this split might be even better than their later EP's which I thought were great also. No crust influence at all, just pure, driving fast and intensely blazing Japcore tunes at it's best. Done extremely well comparing to many of the generic/mediocre trad. '80s Japcore styled bands from that era(i.e. Like some of those MCR or Dan-Doh releases that nobody gives a shit about, the shittier ones). Split release by Discrete and Poison Cola's label Bater Records. Like many other Discrete releases, only 500 copies of this 7" were pressed. Oh, and the artworks on the sleeve and inserts look very cool as well. By the way, Poison Cola was formed in '85. I guess this split was their first vinyl release after putting out a bunch of demos. Too bad, because they could get many fans if they had a release or two on Selfish Records. The "Night Of The Living Dead" comp. 7" on Bater Records is also worth tracking down, though it's not an easy record to come by either. P.S. Just found a download link for this split 7" right here: http://crashthepose.blogspot.com/2010/03/blood-feast-poison-cola-split-7-1994.html

Blüdwülf / Toxic Holocaust "Speed N' Spikes Vol.1" 7" EP - Relapse, 2008, US, Ltd to 400 copies(out of 1000 total) on clear yellow/red splatter vinyl, Orig. sticker on outer sleeve, New/Unplayed, (RR-076) - $25

Crocodile Skink / Forca Macabra - 7" EP - D.I.Y., 1996, Japan/Finland, 2 x insert, (D.I.Y.-EP 014) - $25

Crucial Section / Lie - 7" flexi - In Your Fuck, 1998, Japan, Ltd. version of 50 copies w/ hand-numbered orange sleeve, (No Cat. #) - $28

Crucial Section / Calf Branding - 7" EP - Dan-Doh, 1998, Japan, (Dan-Doh 012) - $10

Crucial Section / Thrashington D.C. - 7" EP - Crew For Life/One Person Party, 2009, Japan/France, 500 pressed, Yellow marbled vinyl, Hand-numbered sleeve(# 290), Insert, (CFL-011/OPP-001) - $8

Crucified By The System(Kä-Kami) / Insane Youth A.D. "Wild Things" 7" EP - Dan-Doh, 1999, Japan, (Dan-Doh 025) - $15
Crucified By The System(a.k.a. Crucified By Kä-Kami) was a Scandi styled noisy D-beat HC project band consisted of Kawakami(Disclose), Otto(Selfish/Forca Macabra), and some Insane Youth dude. Insane Youth sounds more like raging trad. Japcore and had a guitarist from Forward.

Crude / Violence Moment "Blood Sucking Freaks IV" 7" EP - Blood Sucker, 1996, Japan, (BSR-019) - $28
The first ever record release by Crude!

Delta(ex-S.D.S.) / Rocky & The Sweden / Balzac "Abstruct Madness" CD - DiwPhalanx, 2001, Japan, 600 pressed, Ltd. tour-only release, Clear purple zippered PVC package, (PX-068) - $28
Very rare 3-way split CD which was only available during the Abstruct Madness/Noise Rock 2001 tour by these 3 bands together. Delta was a short-lived band by all the ex-S.D.S. members except a drummer was ex-Iconoclast. Awesome, ultra-fast and metallic HC. Their songs sound fucking sharp and aggressive as hell. I personally like them even better than S.D.S.!!! The 1st EP was planned to be released on MCR, but sadly they broke up before releasing anything besides a few comp appearances on the Mangrove label CD, the Destroy 'zine comp 12"/CD etc. The Delta tracks on this split are "War Machine", "Sons of Distraction" and "Statik Love-Statik Loud". All of them are killer!!! Rocky does a kick-ass Japanese cover of Ultra Violent "Crime For Revenge" and one original song. Nice packaging and punkish cover artwork.

Disaffect / Sedition "Work As One" 7" EP - Nabate/Flat Earth, 1993, UK, 2000 pressed, Insert, (NAB-07/FE-12) - $18

Disclose / Cluster Bomb Unit - 7" EP - MCR, 1995, Japan/Germany, 1500 pressed, Poster sleeve, (MCR-080) - $20

Disclose / Selfish - 7" EP - D.I.Y., 1996, Japan/Finland, Remastered 2nd press, Insert, (D.I.Y.-EP 003) - $20

Disfuse / Power Of Idea - 7" EP - Japankore, 1995, US/Japan, 300 pressed, Clear red vinyl, Insert, (JKDR-002) - $20
Dropdead members' project band Vs. Japanese political crust. Confuse rip-off sleeve artwork and logo. Includes a Crow cover by Disfuse and a Dropdead cover by P.O.I.

Disturb / Destroy "Commit A Sin/The Crush Bastard System" 7" EP - MCR, 1995, Japan/US, 1500 pressed, Poster sleeve, (MCR-087) - $10

Completely different tracks than the 7" version.

Extinct Government / Hazard "Punk Addict" 7" EP - Overthrow, 1995, Japan, Poster sleeve, (Overthrow-011) - $25
The first release by both bands. E. Government feat. early lineup with Minoru(ex-Lip Cream/The Comes) on bass.

Gas / Nikudan "Reikai/Ryojin-Nikki" 8" EP - Jisatsu Label, 1984, Japan, Poster sleeve version(1st press) w/ label newsletter printed inside, (GL-004E) - $48

Lärm / Pandemonium - LP - ????, 199?, Holland, 250 pressed, Boot, Orange vinyl, New/Unplayed, (No Cat. #) - $18

Liberate / Selfish "The Only Thing Between Life And Death...Is You!" 7" EP - HG Fact, 1999, Japan/Finland, Label flyer, (HG-111) - $9
The Selfish tracks were recorded during their Japan tour and were produced by Chelsea(Death Side/Paintbox). He also plays guitar solo on one of their tracks "Tight-Ass", which is a great song about those close-minded PC dickheads(a.k.a. B.O.D. or P.O.I.) from Tokyo, yeah!!

Macrofarge / Euthanasia "Reality Crisis" 7" flexi - MCR, 1989, Japan/Finland, 1000 pressed, (MCR-024) - $30
The Macrofarge side is so damn good!!! They were one of the earliest Japanese crust-core bands, with a singer from Acid/Liberate and a bassist from Asbestos/Alliance. Highly influenced by Doom!!!!! If you're into classic U.K. crust or Japanese crust bands like Abraham Cross, S.D.S., Warcry, C.F.D.L.(early), Naüsea, Anti Authorize, Doom, E.N.T., Sore Throat etc., then you'll love Macrofarge. Too bad this is the only record they've ever released! One of the best Japanese crust bands for sure. Hard to find, early MCR release. The Euthanasia side fucking sucks, so don't listen to it. They don't even deserve to be on the other side of this split!

Nightmare / Concrete Sox - 7" EP - MCR, 1993, Japan/UK, Insert, (MCR-049) - $35

No Futures, The / Swindles - 7" EP - Punk Dischord, 2008, Japan, 300 pressed, Insert, flyer & pin badge, (Punk Dischord-03) - $28

Order / Mindsuck / Mental Disease "Natural Crust & Punk Force, Noise Making" 7" EP - MCR, 1996, Japan, 800 pressed, Poster sleeve, (MCR-092) - $30
This 3-way split is actually quite hard to come by(and expensive in Japan coz Order is fucking big now overthere). This is one of those few old MCR 7"s that were pressed in smaller quantity like 700~800 copies. Contains the first ever recording by Order, with original singer, from when they were still playing early Chaos UK/Disorder/Chaos CH influenced, sloppy and raw noisecore like what you hear on their "Punk Navigation" 1st EP on Overthrow Records. I love all the Order releases up to the "Taep'o-Dong" LP, but especially the early stuff though. Their recent 7"s are kinda lame... Some of the Mindsuck members went onto form Reality Crisis. Noisy distorted crustcore. Mental Disease, you probably already know. Really nice 'n' crusty comp. 7" with a super-crusty sleeve artwork that you can actually smell it.

S.D.S. / The Hong Kong Knife "Tiger Hole Range Split 7" Series Vol.7" - 7" EP - Loft/Tiger Hole, 1998, Japan, (THRS-007) - $25

S.O.B. / Outo - Split 7" EP - Coretic, 1989(?), Japan, 1st press of 200 on black vinyl w/ pink sleeve & sliver labels, Hand-numbered label, (Coretic-01) - $35
This is the "original" 1st pressing from the late '80s(or '90?), on black vinyl with a pink-ish sleeve. Also the center labels are metallic silver. Only 200 of these "real" ones were made back then. These are rarely seen for sale nowadays. More recent reissues were pressed on various colors of vinyl with a black & white slick sleeve and the white center labels. Who knows how many copies of those recent ones were really pressed(definiately way more than 200, although almost everywhere online states so).

Slight Slappers / 324 - 7" flexi - HG Fact, 2000, Japan, Gig freebie, Label flyer, (HG-153) - $30
Given away only at Antiknock in Tokyo on 12/9/2000(Both bands' CD release show). Never been officially available for sale. Probably only a few hundred copies pressed. Contains "Vanette(Crazy Kids Version)" by S.S. and a few untitled live tracks by 324.

Spazz / Toast - 7" EP - HG Fact, 1996, US/Japan, Label flyer, (HG-057) - $10

Total Fury / The Jury - 7" EP - Gloom, 2007, Japan/US, 500 pressed, Ltd. US tour press, Gray marbled vinyl, Hand-numbered sleeve(# 352), Insert, (Gloom-040) - $7

+++ COMPILATION +++

ADK Omnibus Vol.2(Neo Punk Disorderly) - 7" EP - ADK, 1984, Japan, Insert, (ADK 08E) - $110
Gasatsu(Crime Fighter) / Molugu / Gabell / Glycerin - Volume two of the legendary compilation by ADK Records. Produced, engineered and released by Tam(The Stalin/G-Zet/Typhus/ADK Records). The whole comp is awesome. The Glycerin tracks are much more raw and chaotic HC sounding than the later 8" EP on AA Records. Molugu kills.

Abikyokan - 7" EP - MCR, 1994, Japan, 700 pressed, Poster sleeve, w/ sticker, (MCR-071) - $38
Accomplice / Blaze / Geshpenst / Ouda

Battle Of The Worst Bands - 12" - Non Commercial, 2006, US, Ltd. mailorder edition of 175(out of 475 total) on coke-bottle clear vinyl, 2 x insert, New/Unplayed, (NON-06) - $15 Cider / Darvocets / The Ruiners / Brainwashed Youth

Darkest 4, The
- Tape - Self, 2003, Japan, (No Cat. #) - $28 Effigy / Acrostix / Zoe / Disturd - Rare ltd tape-only release. Contains exclusive tracks by each band. If I remember correctly, only a few hundred copies of this tape were made and sold out quickly.

Devil Must Be Driven Out With Devil(Hold Up Omnibus) - LP - Hold Up, 1986, Japan, Insert, (HU-2501) - $58
Ghoul / Lip Cream / War Painted City Indian / United / Casbah / Saver Tiger

Fledgling Punx(Nouzui Omnibus Vol.1) - 7" EP - Nouzui, 1987, Japan, Poster sleeve, New/Unplayed, (NR-001E) - $28
Gagize / Re Zist / Sword / Weedy Eggs - Awesome obscure Japcore comp by the DonDon singer's old label. Re Zist and Gagize are known for their great flexi's on Half Alive Records. Sword and Gagize are also on the "Shodoku Gig" LP on Selfish. The front sleeve photo has a crowd of punks from some show and there's young Ishiya from Death Side smiling in the middle. I got my own copy in '88 and just recognized his face in the photo 20 years after.

Genkai/Entenka Gig - LP - G & E, 199?, Japan, (No Cat. #) - $25 Reality Crisis / Order / Tomorrow / Out Of Touch / Insane'n The Brain / Drop Out / J.U.U.M. / Rotary Beginners / Marten's / Strike Out / Head Round / Maniac High Sense - This is NOT a live album. All studio recording. It's a compilation of the bands that used to play at the local series gigs held in the Aichi area. Most of the bands on this comp are already broken up. J.U.U.M. had a Reality Crisis member. The Order material is from when they still had the original singer. All tracks should be exclusive to this LP. Not sure of the exact release year, but it should be around '97~'98. Can't seem to find any infos on this release.

Get Back The Discharged Arrow - LP - Selfish, 1989, Japan, Insert, (BEL-12038) - $48
Acid / Crück / Mad Conflux / Mess

Give Us The Time To Play! - 2 x 7" - Lifestyle Sound, 1990, Japan, Gatefold booklet sleeve, (Soul-001) - $10
Fat Slave / Banish Arms / Gang Thrust / Half Life / Rich Materally - Late '80s~early '90s Sendai-city Japcore bands.

Go Ahead Make My Day(Smashing Oddsness 2) - LP - Oddsness, 1989, Japan, Fold-out insert, (OD-002) - $65
Bastard / Asbestos / Don Don / SiC / Complete / Sweats / Sicilian Blood / F.V.K. / Idora - All the bands' recordings are exclusive to this rare comp. The Bastard material is not even included in the official discography CD. Different version of the classic tune "Wind Of Pain"!! The Sicilian Blood songs are very good on this comp., with that Gauze sounding, in-your-face Japcore style. Oddsness label was made only to release the "Smashing Oddsness" 8" EP(Deathside, Crück etc.) and this LP. Sweats featured the ex and later members of Rocky & The Sweden, Headless, Systematic Death, Idora etc.

Godzilla(A Japanese Hardcore Compilation) - Tape - Boot, 199?, Japan, Pic. labels on cassette, (No Cat. #) - $4
The Clay / Chicken Bowels / Googol Plex / Brain Death

Natural Crust & Punk Force, Noise Making - 7" EP - MCR, 1996, Japan, 800 pressed, Poster sleeve, (MCR-092) - $30
Order / Mental Disease / Mindsuck - This 3-way split is actually quite hard to come by(and expensive in Japan coz Order is fucking big now overthere). This is one of those few old MCR 7"s that were pressed in smaller quantity like 700~800 copies. Contains the first ever recording by Order, with original singer, from when they were still playing early Chaos UK/Disorder/Chaos CH influenced, sloppy and raw noisecore like what you hear on their "Punk Navigation" 1st EP on Overthrow. I love all the Order releases up to the "Taep'o-Dong" LP, but especially the early stuff though. Their recent 7"s are kinda lame... Some of the Mindsuck members went onto form Reality Crisis. Noisy distorted crustcore. Mental Disease, you probably already know. Really nice 'n' crusty comp. with a super-crusty sleeve artwork that you can actually smell it.

Nobody's Fault(Sulais Omnibus Vol.1) - LP - Slice(Sulais), 1988, Japan, Poster sleeve, Insert, (No Cat. #) - $28
Poison Arts / Nira-Kodomo / Rose Rose / Matsuji / Clod / Crisis Kill - Great late '80s Japcore comp on the Poison Arts singer's old label Slice(Sulais) Records. Sleeve artwork by Sugi. The Poison Arts and Matsuji tracks kick ass. All the Matsuji materials are so damn good!!! Crisis Kill guitarist later played in Rocky & The Sweden.

Punk The World - 10" w/ The Last Child 7" flexi - Kings World, 1988, Japan, 1st press w/ bonus flexi, Booklet, Clear PVC sleeve, (K-6465) - $45
The Swankys / No Cut / Curse / Lydia Cats / Craps / Jokers / Infers / Android Futures - Rare ltd vinyl issue of the comp tape, originally released in '87. Another cool '80s Kyushu punk compilation by Watch from The Swankys. One very notable band on this record that probably nobody knows about, Curse, plays some killer mid '80s Kyushu styled buzzsaw noisecore ala Gai, Confuse, Sieg Heil, or Gess. This is probably their only ever material on the vinyl format. Comes with a promo-only demo flexi of The Last Child(1st press-only). The large booklet looks cool, too.

Putrid Evil - 7" flexi - No Label(Pre-Earache), 1985, Int'l, 3000 pressed, Clear red flexi, (No Cat. #) - $18
Septic Death(U.S.) / Stupids(U.K.) / Civil Dissident(Australia) - Released by Kalv from Heresy.

Tokyo Crusties Comp E.P. - 7" EP - D.I.Y., 1994, Japan, 6-page booklet sleeve, (D.I.Y.-EP-001) - $38
Abraham Cross / Collapse Society / Battle Of Disarm / Crocodile Skink - Killer compilation with some of the best '90s Japanese crust bands. Awesome noise crust & fucked up EngRish lyrics at it's best. The first release by D.I.Y. Records. Hard to find.

Tosamono - 2 x 7" EP - Dan-Doh, 1997, Japan, Ltd. mailorder edition on clear red & clear yellow vinyls, Poster sleeve(black/white), (Dan-Doh 007) - $18

Tour De Farce - 7" EP - Empty, 1986, Int'l, 2 x insert, (MT-017) - $40
Guerrilla Urbana(a.k.a. Ataque Frontal/Peru) / Guerrilla Urbana(Spain) / No Lip(Japan) / Doc Wör Mirran(Germany) / Büld(Denmark) / Armatrak(New Zealand) - Extremely rare and obscure, mid '80s compilation featuring Ataque Frontal when they were still called Guerrilla Urbana before they've changed their name in order to avoid hassle from the authorities. This is the only release by them under the name of Guerrilla Urbana, besides the '85 demo which ended up being a split tape with HHH from Spain. Also on this great comp are some good bands like Guerrilla Urbana from Spain and No Lip from Japan, with Roger Armstrong from SiC and Dead Cops.

Triple Cross Counter Tour - 7" EP - Kagai Mousou, 1989, Japan, 1000 pressed, (Kagai Mousou-013E) - $90
